Dear Lake View Families,
We are incredibly proud of our students and teachers for their hard work and dedication to reading this year. Our Middle-of-Year (MOY) reading results are the highest they have been in recent years, showing strong growth across our school. Reading progress is measured by how many words per minute students can read, how accurately they read, and their ability to explain and discuss what they learned from a passage.
We are continuing to strengthen instruction and strategies for students who are at or above grade level so they keep growing and making progress. At the same time, we are focusing on targeted interventions for students who have not yet reached their reading goals to help them continue moving forward.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read at home with your students. 20-30 minutes each night makes such a difference in developing these important skills
